The Association

The Association of the Theatre at the Exhibition Centre was established to reconstruct and operate the Theatre at the Brno Exhibition Centre. The Association’s main mission and subject of activity, as stipulated in its statutes, are activities aimed at the rehabilitation of the Theatre at the Exhibition Centre. Our intention is to restart the theatre in 2028, when the Brno Exhibition Centre will celebrate its centenary. But since we want the theatre to come to life as soon as possible, we will be organizing cultural and social activities in the theatre (or connected with the theatre) even before the actual reconstruction.
The ambitious plan for the renovation of the theatre could not be realised without broad public support and cooperation across many disciplines. We have been supported since the beginning by the Brno-Centre city district and the City of Brno, which share a common interest in reviving the theatre. In addition, the activities of the Theatre at the Exhibition Centre are supported by the company BVV Brno Trade Fairs, the owner of the building. Since the beginning of our activity, we have been systematically inviting Brno universities, secondary schools and cultural institutions to work with us.

The theatre restoration project is an endurance race, not a sprint, and it will require a lot of time and hard work. Every hand and every head will come in handy. We don’t want to leave the revival of the theatre to a small group of experts; our main goal is to make the theatre a living place open to everybody.
